What is the difference between F1 and F1b Aussiedoodle?

F1 Aussiedoodle

An F1 Aussiedoodle is a hybrid dog that results from a direct cross between an Australian Shepherd and a Poodle, with an even 50/50 mix of both breeds. They often have a wavy to curly coat in a variety of colors and patterns, and they typically shed less than purebred Australian Shepherds, though some shedding can occur. Their temperament is generally friendly, intelligent, and energetic, combining the best traits of both parent breeds. Because of their high energy and agility, they enjoy active play and training, making them great companions for active families.

F1b Aussiedoodle

An F1b Aussiedoodle is a hybrid dog created by breeding an F1 Aussiedoodle with a Poodle, with the "b" standing for "backcross." This mix has a genetic composition of about 25% Australian Shepherd and 75% Poodle, resulting in a dog with a curlier coat and a higher likelihood of being hypoallergenic. Because of this, F1b Aussiedoodles shed less and are a good choice for people with allergies, but their soft, curly coat requires regular grooming to keep it healthy and tangle-free. These dogs are known for their intelligence, trainability, and friendly nature, making them adaptable and social companions suitable for various lifestyles.
